20101016: This Strange Saturday

"Sometime we best take it easy on a Strange Saturday."

Somewhere amongst & in between,
words were lost and so it seems.
Disconnection early in the morning,
become haywired throughout the day.
Sound of birds' chirp awaken me,
my dream seems wer' interrupted,
not that I could remember.
Strangely I sat mosquito bit me,
between here now & all the grunt.
Turning to slack & laid back again
began the chores of growing up.

20100909: Doing Something About It

Doing xxx about something & then doing something about it.
Rainy day and coup up in Kuching. Kuching weather is like this one, I witnessed a magnificent storm front chasing down the eastern horizon with no mercy a while ago. Then the rain came, flinging down all the cats and dogs from heaven to down below. I once read a book, written by Kuching people, the writer seems to be "female-dogging" a.k.a. b1tching about the rainy weather in Kuching, and here I am, also biatching about the rainy weather.
Truth is, I like rainy weather, if it floods, I don't have to go to school. Now that's really old-skool. Usually school don't flood in this millenium anymore. & i've been out of school for eons.
So... What to do in the rainy weather?
1) Write a blog log such as this
2) Watch TV? the dish might get electrocuted
3) Call up your Kuching friend who is also caught in the rain? las time I use to do this but now no.
4) Tidy up your room?
5) Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain (hmmm. . . sounds interesting)
6) ZZZ

20100901: Clutter Let Go

I thought I'd learn of letting go,
but a tinge of meloncholy filled the air today.
The feeling surged like a whirlpool in my empty room.

I took a moment to taste the feeling I'd long forgotten.
Left behind not to be found again.
Until today, the memory lingers & seems to come alive
as I place each item into its compartment.

In another time and space,
remember that sleep deprived night
remember taking out tons of trash
remember cleaning up the closet
remember the coffee & the cold in the aire.

The sweet of joy in everyone's face
as they turn up to say farewell.

maybe this time, Do Not Let Go No More.

20100827: Quote from Resuree

"When prune the roots, part of the greens will dry up & gone."

I don't do roots, usually, whether as in real life or metaphor, I don't know.
Just let it spread wild in the pots like none of my business, then finally one day it's in need of some re-rooting or change pot. At this instant comes the irony, whether do we just prune the roots only?

Choices time:
A) Let mother nature take it's course, Do nothing
B) Prune the roots & greens
C) Prune the roots & let the greens grow & then prune it like they do Jade
D) A perfect brew of the above

Sort of like molding an animal garden. Bla...

20100825: Something for the Pain

Wanted to write something about PEIN.
"Itami wo Kanjirou" - Feel the pain
"Itami wo Kangaerou" - Ponder the pain (the real Pein will not use contemplate)
"Itami wo Uketore" - Embrace the pain (the real Pein will not just use accept)
"Itami wo Shire" - Know the pain

From there I went in search of a pain song I used to listen to:
Bon Jovi's "Something for the Pain", then I saw "Someday I'll be Saturday Night"; one of my favourite songs of all time. Hmmm, think i'll include it in my marathon mix.
Hey hey hey. . . then I watched "These Days" on youtube.
Not sure what it is, I guess I'm having one of those moments. . .
"Ain't nobody left but us these days."

20100819: To Be or Not To be, that is the Question

Shakespeare bores me, BUT... when a certain faction of my friends brought it up during the sort of engaging conversation done under casual circumstances, I was forced to search through my head for any form of connection with the Bard. Only image to come up is me hands on the cover of a Shakespearish book & yellowing pages, pan in for a closest encounter reveal my 2 fingers on the cover, didn't even read the introduction.
A deeper image would be Gilligan doing "I aught to be or not to be..." in black and white which totally doesn't take me there to the second verse.
Well, I found out that in some country, primary school children read Shakespeare in the extra school activity. And they will remember it the rest of their remaining lives. OMG, the trick is to impart the knowledge when they are young and let them choose their path.
After Hamlet, the "groupies" talk about Venice Merchant, hmmm... totally lost me there. I heard of Venice but never thought that Shakespeare could do rowing a gondola. Some keywords "happy ending", "pound of flesh", "ring".
Putting these thoughts aside, I need to find that book which is still somewhere waiting to be read.
LOL

20100815: Quote from Resuree

"You can always blame it on August."

August: Hot Summer season, I get sick easy. I always get those big sickness in August.
I get hungover without alcohol just the other day. That's August fault.
Dogs & birds pi55ed on my car more on August.
My eyes swell like those bubble eyes gold fish one August, thought I was going blind.
One August, I sprained my ankle twice, thought I was never gonna walk again (a bit exagerated).
rev: Thought I was gonna be a limpbizkit for the rest of my life.
The list goes on and on.
Can't wait for September. :-D

20100811: This Letter

Wrote something during a Wait time of 20 minutes.

Dear R,
It's been quite a mad season of busyness for the past couple of years, to come to an end like this what could you request more of yourself? Did you reach for the sky and steal the moon?
If you had, it must be set quite easily.
What would you do to the rest your life? or another lifetime which ever comes first?
Is it already Xmas in August? Why do I see Xmas trees at Orchard? Strange season it may seems to have a pair of deer antler stuck on people's skull.
Now for the nextoff days of becoming, Do 10 things for the next 10 terms? Or until you get another zeroing like M meekly tweeted. Just for the kick of it and challenge vs needs.
So how fast can you deal?
Fast, Far, Fun & another bunches of "F"s.

HAH... this letter will self-destruct in 8 minutes.
Hold it, someone you know just sneaked by with a greeting.
Another 6 minutes of being bored perhaps.

"Kono tegami wo yondara sugu ni sutete hoshii"

BOOOMMMM

20100803: Exercise for Not Working

"Don't work for money, Money should be working for you."
Got this inspiration after some old pop song ran into my ear.
'She works hard for the money, dum dum dum dum
So hard for the money, teng teng teng teng,
She works hard for the money so you better treat her right.
So right."
(Rev 20100830: 78k & 100pcs of 50 dollar bill:
Went to the bank today, some guy next to me was preparing cash withdrawal from the bank, notes that so much until can fit those 24can beer cartons pack. the machine counting $1000, 78k, & also a stack of $50, siam to look at the figure at the counter... 100. walao, money money money, makes the world goes round and round and makes people crazy)

20100731: Mud Art

Sailed back home to attend something sad.
Weather of Kuching the day after,
Basking hot in the morning,
Heavy dog gone rain in the afternoon.
A short pause about 3 hours in between,
Sound of solitude in the refreshened air,
Atmosphere seems stunned by few rainless days,
I was muddling through the garden spade in hand,
when I realised I might have created my first oil painting today.

20100728: Quote from Resuree

1) Once in a while, need to cut people some slack.
2) Need to cut everyone some slack once in a while.
3) Once in a while everyone need to be given some slack.
4) Everybody need to slack once in a while.
5) "Cut me some slack, boss."
6) "Boss, cut me some slack, I tired OreTi."

I have this thinking when the Sg hawker "forgot" my order & I was made to wait my food for 15 mins. The guy at the next table also waited another 10 mins. "25 minutes too late."
Should I order another stall next time? I've been ordering from this same stall and same people since I can remember.

Nah, then I thought of some quotes in the spare time (refer above).

I reminded again another guy from the same stall, he said the other forgotten, sheepishly. So I wondered what went wrong? Will they include "extra special material" in my food. I saw none, "phew" . . . sighed of relief. LOL ...

Another day passed us by & Life goes on.

20100722: Quote from Resuree

"Your mind, body & soul gotta be doing something meaningful (specifics like listen to music, etc), else all the sh1t (fatigue, emotional outburst) will come out beyond control."
Experienced & realised this from events & observation during on-going simulation.
Now is the chance to be more specific I guess.

20100715: Golden Days

Hey old timer, what will you do after you get that pot of GOLD?
(A collection of options when I reach that age.)

1) Alone Ah Pek at terminal
Good after noon sir, are you traveling alone?
Where is your wife, children or grand children?
Are you waiting for your friend or sibling?
It's a sunny day today, the plane here & I'll be gone,
Have a good journey and Bon Voyage.

2) Tee Oo oo Obasan
This is the filial piety pledge shown in mass multimedia to educate the Sg people I guess. In the current society where the parents expect that the salary receiving teachers in school are resposible to teach their children everything, the National Something Society created this short film often shown in cinema & sometimes TV.
Opening scene, old grandmother carrying the picture of grandfather & move into the flat of the only son's three-some family.
Scene 2, grandmother complain chicken is too hard and vomit it out of her mouth "So hard wanna kill me issit." "Mother I go buy fish poridge for you to eat." While the daughter in law throw the hard chicken into the thrash, the only grandson slam chopsticks on table & grandma looks on apologeticly.
Scene 3, grandmother took her luggage & wanna moved to her sister's place in red mountain while the son tried to stop her. Keypo, neighbours looked on while annoyed grandson slammed door & listen to music on earphone.
Scene 4, doctor talking to son, grandmother got terminal illness.
Scene 5, in hospital grandmother is bed ridden, daughter in law going to toilet while asking husband to accompany the sick old lady, & also asking the grandson to accompany his father. Grandson say, "Grandma treat you & mother like sh1t, why you still treat her so good."
Then the taxi driver son start to sing Tee Oo oo to the mother. Memory recall that last time the son was sick on a rainy day, then the mother carry her in the rain from house to hospital all soaking wet, when arrived at the hospital, the missy ask her to wait "Everyone coming here is sick, please wait your turn." So the mother sing Tee Oo oo to the sick son to comfort him while waiting the turn to be served. Son open eyes and looks like feeling better.
Scene 6, son still singing to grandmother in hospital, she in coma and cannot open her eyes but tears stream down. while grandson looks on.

3) Kueh Tiaw Ah Pek
"If I hang up my wok, I'll die already."

4) White Shoes Ah Pek
"Today sure is sunny hot. Yesterday was a cloudy day, my game of golf went pretty swell."

5) Nice Aunties offering help
"Do you need some "hong ew"? I have it somewhere in my bag." :-)

20100710: Put Your Best Foot Forward

Worned out. . . settling down in bed, as I recount what I did this evening.

It has been a long while since I did any exercise, so I called up my friend this morning to arrange a jog session in the evening perhaps?.

As we were doing the last klik, my friend, a "hardcore" jogger got smitten by some heavy footer closing in from the rear & he went in all out to show who is the Alpha male. Leaving behind poor me smelling the foul stench left by his & his burning rubber shoes.

As my body exfoliate, sweat & salted, I experienced near lapse into a blackout not since a hard hangover. Maybe this is the Runner's High I heard of?
As I neared the "finish line", I felt a sudden bliss as this is the end. kekeke.

But noo noo noo... at this time we were joint by another seasoned veteran "hardercore" runner who saw what had happend & ":praised" my friend for the "kill". I too join in the talkokversation as so far, I think this was really a super good work out, partly due to I got the runner's high feel. :-D or maybe too much delifrance coffee I took 2 hours before?

As it turns out, we continued the jog at his favourite route, a mixture of uphill, downhill & traffic lights. We were climbing uphill & my friend started to talk about a nice coffee shop at that area. Being his favourite route, he knows all the lobang around there. OMG, as the fat in my body started to burn, my mind just couldn't process the taste of char kueh tiaw & char hey mi deliciously, what is happening to me? I guess less blood flowing to my brain made it haywired because I just couldn't reply, probably I also couldn't recognized me... looking like a zombie, out of breath & trying to keep up. Those short pauses at traffic light crossing became a really welcoming sight.

Caught a few breath and started to reply as my language ability suddenly came back. Making meaningful chats for a few seconds & we were off again. Jog jog jog jog, I don't know why but Jay Chow's catchy indistinctive rap tune started an army of ant-crawl moving in my head. My friend told me some form of focus & determination is needed at times like this. Who would have thought some Mpop rap tune would have this type of affect deep deep.

As we were doing some warm down exercise, my friend gave me some pointers & I tweeted: "I thought it was a good run". "Yeah, see you tomorrow same time, a few more of us is running." "Sure, why not. I'll beep you tomorrow if nothing come up." ... ... ... Sure something is bound to come up.

Nah, I think I need the exercise & it wouldn't be a bad thing too. Just no regrets & putting your best foot forward.

20100709: Silvering Days

Overheard on a bus, conversation between 2 silver hair people. From their attire, they are still contributing to the workforce. On the queue same as me, 2 buses came, they boarded the crowded one and was commenting about no place to sit, & how should have taken the other one. Old people tends to speak carefreely in company of their own like a coffee shop. One way to look at it, maybe he was thinking of the comfort for his buddy. As they continue to talk, some young girls sitting nearest offered them seats, but they declined. This hold true for the theory of refused to be "Reserved Seat"-ed. So they were continuing on that still have people offering seat on the bus, in the train XXX lo, they are the one who are giving up seat for people who really needed it. Only seat down when necessary, some people pretend to sleep, some hold up the paper high-high, some treat as invisible & also the price of bus ticket has increased since 4-July.

From what I see, as the population continue to "grey" & "silver" and current statistics of less children popping out, it just can't be help. When they are young, they think they can give up the seats & finally when they are old, they still have to give up their sitting comfort.

As I looked out, I saw a double rainbow, similar the one at Kuching the other day, minus the orange sky though. July = Rainbow month? I wondered: Where is the silver lining in the cloud? And is there really a pot of GOLD waiting at the end of the rainbow?

20100707: People Looking Dull & Bored the Dayafter

Day After... Everybody in the train looked dull & bored at rush hour today, or was it lack of sleep from watchin' this morning's two thirty match. The 6PM crowd was back as usual, no more empty comfy cabin space as what was seen few days ago. Crowd was at most dead silence, maybe still in dreamland or like me, conserving up every bit of energy until the time to watch the next match.

Worn out and a rare rigidity filled the air, only disturbance by faint howling sound from wind tunnel & chattering of sorts unfamiliar to World Cup.

For last night, I dozed off during second half of the game. hah, hope it would be an exciting match later. chaw...

20100704: What Can be Done in 360 seconds

6 MINUTES: that's the waiting time if you arrived late a second at the plateform courtesy of some ignorant stair blocking human and the train just shuts in your face & pulled off.

1) Walk from one end to another of the platform, slowly to catch the wind if any is blowing.
2) Write a blog entry such as this.
3) Count the trees, good for your eyes as watching too much screen is bad. Alternatively you may count the foreign workers having a picnic on the lawn field.
4) Look for birdsnest on the mrt roofing.
5) Read the rail track information.
6) Secretly scratches scr0tnm.
7) or just sit the fk down and listen to one and a half songs on your iPod.

20100703: Greying Days

People will grow old, that's a fact. In general, people do not want to grow old. Since the beginning of time, we have been told fairy tale stories of the fountain of youth & elixir of life. Even in the media of present days, old age seems to be a taboo, people want to feel young and continue to live forever.
Good health should come before wealth, but these days, that doesn't seems to be the case anymore. The value of human is measure by wealthat we show people & teaching of books such as "Rich Dad Poor Dad" phenomenal hype. I started to think of this when I saw the number plate "SH4H" in an up scale Sg neighbourhood. Is that really a arabian shah in the car? Looks likely but uncertain, all caucasian looks the same in Sg due to blending into the landscape.
Anyway, one day life ends and what ever great worldly things they had will be left behind.

Greying days (rainy gloom as I took the bus) in Sg, observe the food court auntie & uncle. I was killing time (about 1 hour of uncertainty; mind the pun) in a food court kopitiam. Ordered kaya toast set (orang kaya? mind the pun) with coffee since i'll be meeting my friend for dinner later. Most of the worker hired were above 50s (or so?). The services & speed were comparable to young people & they seems to be more serious in their work. One aunty walked pass me about 5 times to clean my table & cautiously checking whether I finished my coffee already. Didn't bother me at all as I understand this is their job. Everyone have their role to play in the kopitiam or in life. Sort of a pity that they could not enjoy the old age as my parents do. But at least they will get salary money on pay day, whether they'll be spending it is another matter.
It's up to them to clean up the food leftover on the table, seeing the leftover moving before my eyes, at that moment the story of "children in Africa got nothing to eat" invoke in my head. I knew they felt the same too but they cannot say anything to "not their grandchildren", probably already grown accustomed to the wastage in this age of abundance.
Hope they don't take it out on them when they meet their grand-children as it would only cause the opposite effect to children nowadays, & also lose whatever desired love that's is left.
Apparently it's better to work in an enclosed kopitiam rather than open air. A cleaning lady once rambled on & on about an old ahpek fellow worker who slipped, falled & had to be hospitalized for some time.
Often wondered where are their children? off to earn money? & do not care about what happened to them?
We'll all experience this in the future some day... that's LIFE ;-) but then again, we're living the present. Like the food in the trash that will be collected by the ton & processed into "black" fertilizer for the trees around the neighbourhood; when the time comes. it comes. I also wonder what it would be like another greying days.

(visual imagination based random blogging)

20100701: Kuching trip

Did a stopover at Kuching for a short 3D2N trip. Didn't go out much, most of the time drinking whisky on the rocks at home, feels like old age is trying to drag my feet. Shrug. . .
Went to my regular kolo mee haute, ah... the taste is the same still after so long. Same old taste, did I remembered the taste correctly? Or is it getting better everytime I eat it?
House full of customer at 9:45PM during middle of the week . . . let that be the judge itself.

20100628: Needless Things

I am surrounded by needless things (a.k.a clutter) due to the former habit of shopping & constantly picking up dead chicken. I'm not one of those impulse buying type though, I hope. Recently I have this stronger urge to reduce demand and increase supply so that the price of things will fall and they will become "ded-chickieen" for me to pick up. It's become like a cycle to achieve my goal, the only thing to do is to wait it out. Hmmm.

How did I conclude that I'm not an impulse buying type? First off, I seldom use my credit card, picking up points for exchange of gift is beyond me. I was having shopping session few days in a row with parents, siblings and friends. I found that people are more prone to spend when they're with their friends rather than relative. One thing is I did not spend money on buying my things during my parents' recent vacation here. LOL, except for the $10 France world cup Giordano T shirt on cheap sale. Hahaha (had to laugh at those Francee' for crashing out, next team I wanna sabo I will buy their T-shirt). For that except for paying for all my parents' shopping expenses, food and utilities stuffs, I didn't spend another single dime... So, only $10 for the whole 5 full days of my parents shopping getaway. Conclusion, I'm not one of them people who feel overwhelm by the hugeness of the high-class shopping center environment, seeing something overpriced and wanna show off they can spend their hardearned blood & sweat money against their normal better judgment in an air-conditioned place full of people waiting to service you with a smile as if their salary depended on it. Nah... not my thang.

This urge I had for reduce demand and supply, well... Me and my buddies conclude that after watching world cup we should do green tiles, green roofing and green everything. One of the goodness that becomes of this is to "j00" g00ogle map's accuracy satelite spy cam on our roof top. Going green and recycling maybe good for our earth. So, if we demand less, people will produce less & mnc company like the one I'm working for will have less customer demand so our supplied output will be less, hence reduction in OT working hours & green house gas emission & I can go back home while the sun is still up & have some quality time daily to update my blog instead of 1 time in 2009. That's the green life all stemming from watching world cup & insomia. Ding...

Ded-Chickieen, there are few types
1) Dead due to sick and throw out in trash.
2) Those kampung chicken crusing in mid air & kena windscreen.
3) Walk walk pok-pok & suddenly the "kai" pokkai drop dead from over feeding a.k.a heart attack.
4) Old & ripe enough to become brands essense of chicken
5) Chicken that wouldn't lay egg & won't die
6) Good chicken that got thrown out for no reason
7 ) etc . . .

Now about achieving my goals, I looking back I think I set them too easy. So, the only thing to do now is to wait.

20100626: Thieves in the Temple

It's World Cup season & I've been staying up late and sleeping up late. In the middle of the night, I have to watch everything I do. I have to do carefully & quietly as delicate as possible; like thieves in a temple, as quiet as can be. This is to prevent from disturbing my surrounding people.

Walk more softly like creeping soft-footed ballet,
Spoke like having sore throat, then your friend give you a weird look.
Use of sign language & eye contact,
Not let things fall on floor or even touch the floor,
Not flushing the toilet to reduce water flowing sound down below,
When drinking the cup put down slowly,
Not turning on the light in case people want to come complain they see no people,
Turning the key more slowly to reduce clicking sound when going out for pass midnight supper,
Closing the rusty door softly.
Turn on/ off the light softly.
Cannot take out my chips from plastic bag & open like normally,
Totally chatting/congratulating your friend on the phone is a NO NO.
Need to soft-type on the computer. D4mn ! ! !

Anyway, one thing icantelyu straiaway that people are mad world cup season, even those not watching it.
Understandable for those watching ones. We can see coffee shop with local & many foreign workers alike standing sitting squatting or stretching their neck to catch a free glimpse of the play. People shouting "GOALL" due to cannot see properly from far away & the smiling bystanderonlooker correcting the situation information.
I was quite surprise to see baby still awake at midnight & their overactive siblings disturbing the baby chair. I wonder if they will grow up to be a football star, or just a nerd with deep eyes problem from all the TV watching. (Eye is a good industry here too... hmmm.)

Anyway, it is better to shout with the mob then doing thieves in the temple at your own home.

Tsk tsk tsk . . .

Revision (20100710):
Saw a heart warming pair of father and son amongst the football watching crowd. They were sitting side by side on stool at the lawn outside coffee shop. Eyes glued to the screen. This pair of Chinese new immigrant father and son is soaking in the Sg World Cup culture. Sort of something to pass down from generation to generation. :-)

20100625: Busy Antwarp Life

Busy as An Ant, walking here and there.
Unstopable like an MRT in Warp speed.
On a heavy rainy Friday, I wander around in Antwarp.
Will we be busier than a BEE?

My mind was cloudy wondering about my friend who is in Antwerp.
How is the weather there? Are there bluer sky than here?
Did you had your cup of black sugarless coffee?
How would it be if we were to trade places?
WIll I be as happy?

Smile. . .

20100624: Boot Licking

I learnt this new term over-hearding some young junior high kids. I know apple-polishing, & sesame grinding. But boot licking? Hmmm... reminds me of U2 Get On Your Boots, Puss in Boots.
Nowadays, not many people wearing boots, as compare to people eating apple (Is it a generation gap thingy?). So, I come to conclude that this is quite an "opiang" term taught by their opiang boot-wearing teacher.
Next time, if want to get flattered or feel like a million bucks, please wear boots. I have a few pairs of boots which I only wore for gardening or during raining days which seems like going to flood.
The only thing that would lick them would be my lab, but everytime I imagine I would say "Shoo dog, smelly, poison."
Well, it's still pretty hard to imagine boot licking in my dictionary. I wonder how they came to term this, imagine your boss saying: "Come... Lick my boots." "Boss, you're wearing air jordan today wo. How about if I polish your apple." "Darn, those boots are uncomfy compare my AJ1. Ok la, give me the apple good for my health I'll give you more increment if we survive this financial year." "Sure bos, anything you say bos, I polish this apple with enzyme so all the chemical wax is gone. That's how we do it at home."
Hmmm, I think those apple we buy is necessary to polish if we want to eat the nutricious skin.
So, apple polishing might turn out to be a good sport.

There's no boots to lick nowadays anyway... ;-)

Might be due to all the yellow anti-slip safety boot Phua Chu Kang. Could they be associate with that? PCK private boot licking limited?
Speaking about apple, Steve Jobs probably would recommend you to polish his Apple Iphone as if your life depended on it.

20100623: Double Expresso

3AM:
I can't sleep. I know why.
I ordered 2 cups of brew at 10 pm,
Today's specialty is expresso,
When my order came, she delivered a cup.
I asked "I ordered two, where's the other?"
"Oh, sorry" she said,
Then I went for brown sugar,
"I thought is 2 shots", I overheard.

The other cup came
as I chat up my friend,
I didn't thought much.
6 hours later I'm still WIDE awake,
to suffered the aftermath,
a DOUBLE EXPRESSO.

20100622: Quote from Resuree

"I do not want to hear n466ing when I go back".

When family is near, without my Ipod to my ear, that's what I hear.
Sounds familiar like a white lie on Saturday,
Seems I long forgotten the gentle "sweetness" creeping up my ear.

Ther' is no defence against this, like tears on Tuesday.
The meaning when you're born you start to think about the beautify words.
Speechlessly as I hear, like waves to the shore.

What is it trying to convey to you? Whistles . . . to that day. Until Now. . .

20100615: 48 Minutes Till Never

"Slept at 3AM, forgot the breakfast at 9AM."
As I reached the breakfast table, I'm still waiting forever whenever
My friend overslept on this cool windy rainy morning.
Ha ha ha... Old habits die hard.

I didn't mind the wait at all.
I took my breakfast and count the minutes,
1 cup of coffee refilled 2 and another... 3

My heart was racing after a few minutes.
I rang at 10 to 9 & after each,
but still my friend couldn't be reached.

Finally I received a call from a sleepy voice.
I was glad after 48 minutes.

20100614: Milestone

Sitting on the milestone, I looked back by the road,
This piece of rock marks a certain instance in our journey,
As the people pass us by, I turn & looked with my own eyes,
Their joyful face, non expression and innocence.

As I felt the cramp creeping up my leg, I knew it was time again for me to move on.
Good bye my dear friends and gang, we'll meet again where ever it may.

I wish all of you the health bliss & happiness.
Afterall, this is the only life we have, You only live once so find the meaning of it.

Cheers...

20100609: Super Cold Tiger Beer Day

I'm beginning to love Wednesday. Also known as "No OT Day", "Eat-Dinner-With-Your-Family Day", "Sports Day". On this Wednesday, I had dinner with my "long lost" buddy & a catching up on this "Super-Cold-Tiger Beer Day". ;-)

The beer lady ask me to sip a mouthful first before the chill-ness escape. :-p

As shown in this zoom view, the icy cold almost frozen beer is fast becoming liquid while rising above & releasing bubbles of happiness on Wednesday. :-p
What's best is they offer 2 bottle for $10. Woo hoo.

20100607: All That You Can't Leave Behind

Mixed emotion flow on Monday . . . for no reason. The weather this morning is as unpredictable as can be; what's certain is: "It's a good morning for sleep zzz."
Same as Saturday, I could sleep for hours on this morning which feels like a day after storm in a long vacation... cuddle up in bed like a chipmunk in winter.
W A I T UP!!! it's Monday, I could not do like a weekend. #$%^&* !!!Woke up ate breakfast and head off for work; following that day to day routine & timing. Heck, I could be a robot. except for the 24 hours thingy.
A seemingly serene monday on the working front; will knock off early to catch a movie (catch a Nightmare is more like it).
Seems I can leave it behind for now [ to do that, you'll have to be ahead a few layer ;-) ]. Chow.... baby.
Song from U2 "Walk On"
"Leave it behind
You gotta leave it behind
All that you fashion
All that you make
All that you build
All that you break
All that you measure
All that you steal
All this you can leave behind
All that you reason
All that you sense
All that you speak
All you dress up
All that you scheme
You gotta leave it behind"

20100606: Quote from Resuree

"This morning when I woke up, I never knew I'll be eating crab (for dinner)."
Memerobilia that still lingers from 3-June-2010 dinner.

20100529: Clutter 2010-5

It's almost that time of the year to clear my room clutter again. Hmmm... I declare Vesak day as ClutterDay. hehehe... On this day, I will do things related to clutter.
Start by random reading about clutter:
We are in influenced by things, events, and people closest to us. So it is absolutely logical and advisable to first start clean your bedroom clutter fengshui. The wonderwear under the bed, the skeleton clutter in your closets, sell/throw/flush/burn as many thing as possible not used in a long time. Take out all the items that create visual and heat like TV, computer, PSP (walao, i think i hit a really old article(http://fengshui.about.com/od/thebasics/qt/clearclutter.htm), nowadays TV is everywhere, especially in bedrooms LOL, well just go along with the reading), that do not belong in the bedroom. Exercise equipment, office/work related items, storage items. Ehhhhh... so in the past the bedroom they only put bed?
Other interesting read:
1) The bigger the piles got, the bigger my dread got.

Next take picture of room.

20100528: Train Seating

After 3 minutes, the train arrived. During morning rush hour, as usual no sitting place when I boarded, not that I really needed it; being "young people" & unimpeded in movement. I would feel unconsciously being stared at by Poison-evye or Silent-cursor if I sat down. Chuckle . . . that doesn't apply if you are not taking up space in the "special people reserve" seats though.
Bear in mind in a business corp island limited, where there is demand, there will be supply driven by the customer feedback or in this case the commuters complain.
Ever notice how if they announce cut cost, you will have to wait another 2 minutes the next day?If people complain not enough place to stand, the seating place will be reduced from 9 to 7; per cabin, that's like 4 "young" people cannot sit forever.
How about those:
1) old people who dye their white hair black
2) over-sized talking baby in the baby pram
3) fat people who look like pregnant
4) pregnant woman who refused to sit
5) old folks who refuse to be "Reserved Seat-ed"
6) Mother mauling you down with baby vehicle
7) Old people who gave up their seat
8) family of more than 3 doing a row.
9) Old people who want to seat at normal seat.
10) All day/night stand train with no seat and no prejudice
11) etc (to be updated whenever)
Conclusion is new train bigger compare to old. They minus away 2 seats when they build the new train. They claim it's for comfort, so while 7 comfortable people are sitting 2 uncomfortable people are some what "suffering".
Moral of the story is: Be careful what you wished for, you might get it when you're old and grey. Or your next generation might get it.

20100527: Humidity

Took the morning train these few days to office. Work up some sweat while dashing to cross the road at 7 seconds. This to beat the 22 seconds traffic running green man. About 2 seconds extra margin before the cars go mercilessly. Sort of reminds me of the 100plus commercial. LOL.
Arrived at the plateform sweaty felt cursed like a zombie slimmy rotten skin. Can't imagine at that instant how to do the day with all the salt covering my body; which explains how all the beauty industry can set up their flagship store at the most expensive location here. Looking around me, everyone is sweating, quiet and cussing... maybe.
One thing for sure. it pays insanely well for doing dermatology in this country.
It's that time of the year for the Great Singapore Sale & that hot and humid weather.

20100525: Black On Tuesdayz

Ever notice how everything around me seems to be black on Tuesday? Black coffee. Black computer screen, black electrical appliances, black file folder, black bag, black T shirt, black dustbin, black stingray wallet, black plastic bag, black camera, black diary, black handphone charger, black Nokia N73, black shoe boxes, black power brick, black dry box, black unwash T shirt, black notebook damper, black floppy disk, black cocacola zero, black working bag, black cabinet, black speakers, black duct tape, black uwear, black watch, black document bag, black pants, black shirt, black polo, black black sky (of course la, midnight liaw). ZZZ...

20100524: I Remembered Like It Was Yesterday

Couldn't believe what happened this morning, a drop of bird 'droppingz" flew like a b o m & landed on my bed while I was just a few feet away. It needle-eye-ed through the window grill, my towel, my hanger and unstoppably shot like an arrow to its target.

I seems to recall similar incident happened about 15 years ago when I was in Kuching.

The difference is, now I stayed on the top floor in Singapore, flocks of mocking? birds flew by every morning, afternoon & night,

I guess this is "D" day they decided to practise their aim. @#$%^&*.

Well... no matter, there's good SUN these few days & I already washed the "thang" off quickly.

I wondered if those birds fancy the cloths we hung out as target practice bull's eye? Leave the bird brains for the birds. :-)

This motivated me to buy Jackpot, but my number didn't "kena" today's draw.

Like Robin Hood Senior said "They rise and rised again, until lambs become lions. . . Never give up. LOL.

20100510: Reading - What You Can Learn From Silicon Valley

6+3 Thoughts from Reading While Posting - What You Can Learn From Silicon Valley
1) Maverick, non-corporate DNA - means casual working way, it's not about busyness, suits & uniforms.
2) Facebook with 400 million users, would be the 3rd largest country after China, India if it was a country.
3) Their office looks and feels like a living room. There's ample lighting, sofas & cosy decor.
4) They move fast, break things... cobble things together and see what comes up; sort of suntzu way, hmmm.
5) At Google, staff who meets all his targets is seem to have taken the easy way out. - they set easy achievable targets
6) Google did not turn up in Beijing in surfer shorts - Being Business oriented & Tech savy.
7) They don't only look at the CV, but also sense of humour (Googleyness). Same as Twitter.
7) Twitter created a company structure that supports creativity.
8) All recognise there are smarter people outside the company than within.
9) All understood that the only deal worth doing is a win-win deal.
Think that's about it, will check to see if I left out something (Rev1).

20100505: Green Zoning

Staring from the greens, I took my coffee in the morning cold.
As I gaze out across the field, the misty air in front of me.
Slowly... the sun would rise, the yellow ray broke thru the white.
At the early dawn, not a human in sight, I can only hear my own delight.
Without reasoning or insanity, the sound of silence can never appear.
Just whisper... gentle on my left ear, it's time to awake from the warmth of bed.

20100326: Short End Thursdayz

Thursdays are like short of something. There's nothing much in between. People seldom sing about Thursday. & when they do, it's not so syok.
"Thursday ain't being kind, somehow i'd survived."
"Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue"
On this thursday morning, I found out it's how denial is best done on Thursday when the week is almost over.

20100320: ORange Fridayz

How to manage an O-range Friday.
recipee:
Sprinkle some onion to draw some tears,
Observe the reaction in the bowl & steer.
Let the taste mixed as one.
No extra at this point.
Keep for 1 half hours.
Collect & screen all following seeds.
Broadcast them simply within 3.
When it's time for 1-1 Klion's den,
Cool or smart is left to weather.
Observe the logic & the basics.
Get the rojak & check the ingredients
(4.5N+1vs2N+6)
Follow them with the uncertainty.
Look for the keen & smile a little.

20100316: Cloudless Sunday Afternoon

On a cloudless Sunday in the beginning of Spring, I took a ride on my crooked bike. There was this sweet scent of sakura in the air & a pleasant breeze blew as I ride. The sun was shining brightly but the air was cool. I felt bliss as I'm happy to be here in the time and space instance. Not a cloud in the sky & not a worry in my mind, nothing could be better.

Saw my GTO as I was gliding down the slope. Didn't have time to react & greet him as I tallied by (balancing problem also).

Didn't expect to see him at 430pm on a day as fine as this. He was wearing long coat & formal attire. Strange ... he could have just completed his work & walking to the train station to meet his wife downtown at 5PM, I thought.

From the expression, as he looked up at the sky I can see he is as happy just to be there (in front of the convenient store) & alive.

He taught me the (return to) basic & simple things. Couldn't help but not getting over this chance to greet him then. Just as trivial how chances passed us by in a blink.

20100313: Levis N3BP

Currently my favourite jeans, been wearing it for "n" years. Very comfy, suitable for our climate.
Recently, what worries me are the holes popping up here and there.
Strange enough caused I not really go and rub it against the road :-p.
Seems like may have to "retired" it soon.

20100307: U2 No Line On the Horizon

It's been few months since I bought my last CD. Was window shopping & found this U2 CD amongst the piles of "others" on sale (50%; half of the price). I think it's quite a good deal around 28 ringgit. That's almost the price of things during my school time.

The CD section of the shop has been shrinking every year. What hinders consumer like me to always buy a few CDs to every month? think think think...
1) The Exorbitant price. Money used for necessities, like daily food (Survival).
2) Only one/few songs are good why buy the whole album (Only 10% of product is useful).
[After listening for many umpteen time, 18% is perfect for me, 64% OK, 18% - no comment.]
3) I'll probably ripped it to my ipod anyway, why don't I just get from my friends the one good song (Social norm).
4) Do not feel a need to listen to it until become a zombie; actually bought 5 days ago but not open it yet (Not a music addict).
5) Laziness to got to the store, queue up at the counter, chat with the girl a little, bring wallet out from my pocket, take out & count money from wallet, money pass to girl, girl "ka-ching" & pass me the change, change put in pocket while receiving item in a non-biodegradable plastic bag, bring things & plastic bag home, find a place to store it (Convenience issue).
6) Overheard some young people shy to browse the "discount tray" because the CDs probably from few hundred years ago (Peer pressure).
7) It's cooler to buy from online music store like itunes (Technology advancement)
[Without seeing the lyrics, cannot hear the greatness in the songs too. Not a music critic who's job is to study the song for a living.]
Anyways, I just loaded it into my Ipod, will be listening to it later. :-)
[13-March:- Already listened & reviewed, time to keep the few good songs for shuffle mode & delete the rest. Just feels that the songs in this album are not as "urgent" as previous. Maybe they already earned too much money? ;-) ]

20100302: Roots

Had a chance to do breakfast with parents yesterday morning. Went to a quite popular coffee shop which just happened to be sitting on the former site of dad's old old house.
It was just a few shops away. I didn't know that if he hadn't say it.
I recalled a vague memory of a wooden house with wet watery floor and wooden planks as walk path.
Dad say their house was the best with billion wood roofing. That was almost 45 years ago from today.
He remembered the tuck shop location, which is now some electrical appliances shop.
And the alligators in the river behind where they used to swim.
A piece of old memories from our roots I guess. :-)

2010227: Chocolate & Life

Old friends are like chocolate,
How sweet chocolate can be,
it stung my tongue & I felt numb,
Remembering the happiness that is.

In the spring where the flower bloom
& warm wind blew,
how i learnt sweet & bitter are good for You.

20100220: Reading - Prosperity Year

23 Thoughts from Reading While Posting - Prosperity year 2010.

Thoughts of 2010 in General:
1) Drama, intensity, change travel (ok, will take note).
2) world conflicts and disasters (hmm... nothing can top the perils & uncertainty I felt during 9-11; or even the tsunami incident, so this is "bull")
3) won't be a dull 12 months for anyone (ok, will take note, especially what undull things others are up to)
4) far reaching changes for everyone (as a person accustom to changes, this is basically normal)
5) New inventions and incredible technological advances have a good chance of occurring (market strategy to incur forced spending, I succumb not)
6) seizing opportunities and making the most of our personal and very individual talents (ok, will take note & apply those set of mirror skills when needed)
7) Everything happens quickly and dramatically (already pick up paced since mid last year, also pick up white hair & eye bags. @#$%^&)
8) blink and you could miss an important chance of a lifetime (that's why i have a video phone).
Habitat Thoughts:
9) Zodiac Stone: Sapphire (jade can or not? I don't want to wear my sapphire accessories so often)
10) Special Flower: Violet (will watch out for people named violet)
11) Best Hours: 3-5 am (best hour to sleep?)
12) Best Season: Winter (will play some snow this year :-))
13) Horoscope Colors: Green, Blue, Yellow (from the 3 I only like blue; #$%^ will buy some green/yellow under-garments)
Lucky Thoughts:
14) 2010 holds great promise exciting developments both personally and professionally (great news but I feel so so only, so-so will take note).
15) Disappointed and disheartened 2009 (no, I've gone thru worst years, last year was kacang, most things came my way)
16) important to leave the past behind and CONCENTRATE ON THE FUTURE, which is looking so BRIGHT! (Super Love This Statement, I started buying Jackpot LUCK. kekeke)
17) Financially, everything improves this year (hmmm... doubtful but good to hear for my ears)
18) money-making thoughts and ideas should be fully explored and investigated (not so sure; GOOD ADVICE this one is though)
19) With the fast pace of this year for all signs, needs to take extra care in planning and thinking all projects through – no rushing headlong into schemes during 2010! (Patience I super have, learning from Survivor while waiting for competition die off)
20) romance will possibly see a friendship suddenly develop into something more personal with exciting consequences. (wah... let's see how it goes this year)
21) August, December and January-2011 (Fun activities)
22) March to May will bring encouraging and interesting job opportunities (Time to test the market)
23) Make sure he puts himself forward and gets noticed at work (already got notice for attacking a lot during play, what need is to build a perfect defence for my teammates to advance the opposing factions, If necessary hostle offensive will be applied. For the benefit of the TEAM).
END ... CHOW BABY...

20100215: Happy Tiger Lunar Year

Happy Tiger New Year.
I learn or re-learnt a few things today.
Old friends are like chocolate,
How sweet chocolate can be (partly due to I ate some "super sweet chocolate" today.)
I guess it stung my tongue & I felt numb for a while.
Milk chocolate with over sweet, would be the great companion for aged red wine.
I wonder would chocolate aged as well as wine?
Just some thoughts for the beginning of spring twenty ten.
Cheers.
Revision/Addition1:
Why would they call it re-vision (huhuhu), it's beginning of the year, Ellen has become the American Idol judge. Blah, the world is just spinning they way it were yesterday. What will be going on/doing for this coming year?
1) Change! Change the old habit, change the way things were, change bla bla. Done all of that & then I changed back. Maybe I should change my job, hold that thought, would I change back. LOL.
2) What about "kyouka"? All your shishio did not spend those time & effort to teach things so that you can change you know.
3) Exercise: According to the book of ways, 3 times a week (sorry I strike off food to below, never was a big fan of food 'chuckle').
3) Food, what would be the to die for taste this year? (no idea now, i'm easy to feed)
4) Travel sight-seeing tour, which month? (planning to go on those lockok beautiful once in a life, go one time never want to go back place tour)
5) Money (don't spend)
6) Investment (don't buy)
7) Bla bla bling... (7D? kekeke)
